"Windows of Knowledge"

This mural hangs on the outside of an old school house on the west side of PJ Gillen School and depicts a modern day classroom of 2012.
Of particular interest in noting is the row of computers, smart board, head-phones, bike helmet, clock and COLOR.  Today's modern classrooms are alive with color compared to the classrooms of the 1930's partly due to the invention of plastic.   Today's classrooms hold only one grade level and have gotten away from the individual desks and have replaced them with tables.   Blackboards have been mostly replaced with white boards and educational posters.
